Administration
Organization Structure
Sahyadri Tiger Reserve has a well-defined administrative framework designed to ensure effective protection, scientific management, and efficient coordination across the reserve. The reserve is headed by the Field Director, who oversees the overall administration and management. Field operations are implemented through two Wildlife Divisions—Koyna and Chandoli—each headed by a Deputy Director. The divisions are further organized into Assistant Conservators of Forests (ACFs), Range Forest Officers (RFOs), and field staff responsible for protection, habitat management, wildlife monitoring, and law enforcement. In addition, a dedicated Range Forest Officer, Mobile Squad, functioning under the Deputy Director, Koyna, provides rapid response support for patrolling, surveillance, and protection activities across the reserve. Overall, the reserve is managed through 2 Wildlife Divisions, 8 Ranges, 24 Rounds, and 75 Beats, ensuring effective conservation and management of its wildlife and habitats.
